Shane, what I like about your head design over other makers, is that your head design will allow for proper blade alignment even with a de-spined GEM blade.

That's correct. The spine is out of the way and has no impact on alignment or function of the razor. Although, having said that, I also don't see much reason to despine the blades unless the blade was previously in a OneBlade.

Does that mean that the GEM blade has to be "despined" in order to fit in properly?

No. My comment was that the gem blade will work with or without the spine on this razor while other razors will only work with unmodified gems. I was pointing out the difference in the head design.

No not at all. If you look carefully at the photos you'll see that the spine is intact. It was designed to work with an unmodified GEM blade.

It does not accept an unmodified FHS blade.
