I am experiencing the same problem with my Dart.  While I am tightening it to my best ability (not using any tools yet though), it still loosens by the third pass. For my next shave I am going to use a plastic washer between the handle and the head and hope that it would help resolve the issue.

The plastic washer did the trick!

It's nice that a washer fixed the problem for you, but if a washer is needed to keep the handle from loosening, there must be a problem with it, maybe the thread?

It's nice that a washer fixed the problem for you, but if a washer is needed to keep the handle from loosening, there must be a problem with it, maybe the thread?

The washer just makes it so you don’t have to apply as much torque since it gives. The same effect can be had by tightening it down harder without the washer. Both are just fine. The washer trick prevents marring of the base plate and makes it easier to tighten and loosen. There is no defect in the Dart thread that I’m aware of.

Where does one find these magical washers? I assume they’re made of some sort of rubber or plastic, and can be used on any razor with a standard handle stem.

The last picture is of the head on the Blackbird handle so you can see the difference.  Sorry for the quality of the pix but I don't own a camera and take all photos with my phone.  Hope this helps!

I had overlooked that the handle is made to fit the recess on the blackbird plate. Thx for the pics. Much appreciated.
