Blackland DART

I love the dart. It gives me a really nice shave. The only issue I have with it is that head has now started unscrew from the handle while I'm shaving. It's a strange issue because there's very little pressure, yet it happens all the time now. Maybe I'll try a different handle and see if it fixes the problem.

Something is not right, my handle is pretty snug on my razor.
Might want to get a hold of Shane, I am sure he can fix your problem.

I run into this as well. I use a plastic washer in between the head and handle and it makes it a bit more snug.

I’ve been using the Dart for the past two months or so off and on and I absolutely love it. I actually enjoy a bit of blade feel and audible feedback. Both are great with this razor. It’s incredibly smooth and efficient.

This is going to sound snide, but I certainly don't mean it that way. Have you tried tightening it more? The threads are robust and can take a bit of extra force. You don't need to crank it down, but a bit more than you currently are might just be the fix. If it never tightened fully that would be an interesting situation.

Trying a different handle is probably good idea. I don't really see how the handle could cause this, but it's an easy thing to rule out. Keep me updated with what you discover.

It could be the problem. I'll torq the heck out of the thing and see if it helps. No offense taken. I've done dumber things in my time. This truly is an awesome razor. I appreciate the help.

I have never had that problem with any razor handle including any from Blackland. But this what I do when I receive a new razor. I use a Q Tip or something similar to twist it in the handle threads. You would be surprised how much dirt can be in a handle. I do this with several Q Tips then follow up with a quirt of machine oil not baby oil. Clean it out again with a Q Tip. The handle should screw in very easily and snuged up enough so it doesn't get loose.

I am experiencing the same problem with my Dart. While I am tightening it to my best ability (not using any tools yet though), it still loosens by the third pass. For my next shave I am going to use a plastic washer between the handle and the head and hope that it would help resolve the issue.

The Dart was up today and as always, no disappointments to speak of. A well executed design with Blacklands pedigree of razor shave performance. A well balanced tool that gives one a nice range of adjustment in terms of how you want to feel your shave. Ride the cap and there is really good blade feel. Ride the safety bar and it’s a mild yet deceptively efficient whisker reducer. Find the neutral zone and it’s the best of both worlds. Not a whole lot is being said about the Dart and what it can do. It flies a bit under the radar compared to its bigger brother, the Blackbird and it’s two other siblings the Sabre & Vector. But it performs just as good as those if not better. For the money, it’s a very, very good razor and shouldn’t be overlooked if one is in the search for a modern de made of quality material at a competitive price.....
