I wish Shane was doing a 2nd gen 0C, I'd like to try one to see how much different it is from the 1st gen OC.

Nice pair! From what I've read the 1st Gen OC at the time was reviewed by people that bought them and they complained that the razor was to aggressive which I don't understand at all as I'd call it very efficient but a wonderful shaver. Anyway Richard went back to the drawing board and came up with the 2 Gens which were both milder. I like you had the 2nd Gen SB so I can't say how the 2nd Gen OC compares to the 1st Gen OC but can only say as you probably know that the 1st Gen OC is more efficient than the 2nd Gen SB. I hope maybe down the road Shane will come out with the 2nd Gen OC as well but I'll be very happy to get the 2nd Gen SB back in my den being that I sold mine a few yrs ago like a dummy!

I've got the 1st Gen OC and I'm going to be doing some comparison Shave Offs with some of the more popular very efficient razors currently on the market. You have the 2nd Gen SB so maybe if your up for it you can do a couple of comparison shaves also. This way members can get an idea of what the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen's shave like in comparison to some of the modern day razors leading up to the release. Just suggesting that those of us that have the originals can help other members to get a better idea of what model they may what to choose when the new Tradere/Blackland razors are launched.

Great Shaves!

Well TBH, while I love aggressive razors, I like the 2nd gen SB better than the 1st gen OC, and I find it plenty aggressive, while being very smooth. The 1st gen OC is, as you say, very efficient, but in my hand it requires paying strict attention. Sort of like a 2011 Muhle R-41. Of course the 1st gen handle is way bigger than the 2nd gen both in length and girth, and the added weight increases the aggressiveness. I assume Shane will be making two handles, since the 1st gen/2nd gen design is the same, but the weight/size is significantly different. Though I didn't notice until laying them side by side to take the photos, the knurling is different from the 1st to 2nd gens as well.

Great idea posting the photos up to compare the two models and like you I never noticed the handle knurling is different on the two models as I didn't own both at the same time. I did know the handle length was longer on the 1st Gen. Shane mentioned that he was going to make the knurling a little more prominent on the new razors which is not a bad idea although I have no issues with mine. Yes I remember my 2nd Gen SB being less efficient than the 1st Gen OC I have now but I'm one of those that likes very efficient razors like the 2011 R41, Ikon Tech, CG L 3 and high gap Wolfman razors so the 1st Gen is a winner for me in all areas and as of right now it's in my top 5. I have some good photos of both of mine I'll throw up a little later on when I get home from work.

Thanks again for posting up the detailed photos!

Nice, I had no idea that 2 different lengths were made for the different generations of handles. It will be interesting to see if Shane offers both lengths because I love the longer length. I use that handle on my Wolfman Guerilla OC and it matches it perfectly. I use a Jurgen Hempel polished handle on my Tradere OC.

I can see where it would be a concern. I suppose missing out and not being willing to pay up...paid off.

I'm assuming Shane will be only make one of the two, at least to start with. If he were to ask me I'd say go with the smaller 2nd gen. YMMV.

According to his FB and IG posting today Shane states that in the fall he will launch both 1st and 2nd Gens so I guess at some point Shane chimes in and clears things up.

Both razors will have the Gen 1 95mm handle. Gen 2 is about 92mm. These razors will be a hybrid of the parts I like best from both generations. Knurling will be improved and the handles are probably going to be fully polished.

Tomorrow I'll be on Facebook Live at 5pm Pacific discussing all this and fielding questions. facebook.com/blacklandrazors.

I wonder if Shane will be bringing back the plastic case for these new incarnations. That could be interesting.

I’m researching this, but it’s pretty expensive.
