I was going to say that that is the only thing I don’t like. Hopefully, the end point will be a large enough gap to provide enough aggression!

It’s quite efficient at the high settings. Unlimited efficiency is a bad recipe for a product.

Looks like it will shave much more akin to the defunkt Era than the BB.

Edge-to-edge blade clamping is the main thing it shares with the Era. Otherwise, it doesn’t shave all that much like either of them. The shaving geometry is built from scratch.

Maybe I misunderstood the last video, but will the increase in blade gap be linear across all settings?

If yes, I don't see how you can avoid the effect you mentioned in the video, i.e. that a e.g. 0.15mm increase in gap between each setting feels much more significant at the lowest levels compared to the highest.

Also, I know you in general don't provide any gap or exposure measurements, but will you provide the gap(s) with this adjustable, or at least how large the gap increase is between settings? I think knowing the increase would be useful.

If this razor on the highest setting is more efficient than the Blackbird, shut up and take my money, haha.

We spent some time trying to figure out a variable pitch so that each level was a constant relative move (10% increase, for example). That’s the ideal way to adjust, I think. But that’s basically impossible to manufacture with this type of mechanism. So we ditched that and stuck with linear movement. You’re right, we can’t avoid that issue entirely so we instead sought to use a compromise pitch that makes it pretty good across the whole range. Plus, it’s less of an issue since we went with infinite adjustment so you can go to Level 2.5 if the jump to 3 is too much.

We’ll publish the full gap range, but we’re unlikely to publish the individual gaps.

Handle details will be announced soon, but it’s a pretty average length. Though keep in mind that handle length is a bit deceptive because the knob might be considered part of the “handle” length. So I’m factoring that in when I say that the handle is average length. Also, the length changes a small amount as the shave level increases.

I think I might be more excited to share the handle than I was to share the adjustment stuff. We’re really proud of how cool and functional it’s turned out.
