Shane just announced that beginning this weekend Blackbird titanium razors will only be available in the new satin finish. I really like the look of satin in particular on titanium. This will be the only option going forward for now. I am hoping in the near future they are available in OC. Good job Shane. Not only good looking but cost affective.

I like the satin too. The weight is 56g with an 85mm handle. I have the long handled stainless model, but given the weight difference, I'm not sure if I'd prefer a longer handle in Titanium even it that was an option.

I have giant hands and I'll be the first to tell you that the standard handle is the way to go. So much control and the perfect balance. Especially for titanium.

Hi Shane, you mention the satin version is somehow better in your post and description. Do you mean this subjectively (it looks better) or objectively (it shaves better because of xxx)?

I've got big mitt too, and I like having both long and short handles to choose from depending on the day.
My SS B-birds have long and short, and I not infrequently reach for the long.
It ain't my money, but I think Shane should do a run of long Ti handles for those who prefer the added leverage that a longer handle brings to the occasion.
I erected structural steel for 20 years and I guarantee a longer lever transmits greater force, picks up a heavier load. In the case of a razor handle offers slightly more pressure, even when only the weight of the razor is involved, and in my hand makes for a more maneuverable shaving experience. YMMV.
I’d spend money on a long handle. There is no doubt of the physics behind it, but ultimately I would like one for a different reason than most. I’ve had a lot of shoulder surgeries so I often shave my whole face with one hand (which ever arm is better that day). I can see better if I have a longer handle. I’ve found that about 3.75” or 95mm is just great for this.

Looks and hand feel primarily. I don’t think there is a performance difference.
