I have owned many DE razors over the years... My Wolfman(s) and Blackbird are the only two remaining. It's that good... Great customer service from Shane as well. Just buy it, and try it! Confident you will be pleased

Personally, I find the Blackbird much more efficient with it being closer in comparison to the CG Lvl 3.

The Blackbird is the Razor I recommend to friends/relatives/coworkers  when they ask me what Razor I would suggest for them to purchase. The Blackbird in both SB and OC is one of my all time personal favorites in both form and function. Shane also has outstanding customer service. Highly recommended.

Is the blade exposure / feel closer to the lvl 2?

To my particular face/neck closer to a Lv 3. I find it to be an aggressive razor. Not as in a 2011 R-41, but you know you're putting a razor to your face. Great razor.

If I got rid of most of the hundred or more I have, I'd keep Wolfman, Charcoal Goods, and Blackbird for sure. Maybe a few slants, a Barbasol, and a few Gillettes as well.  Rolleyes

My #1. Great razor. Went thru a bunch, ended up loving that one the most. I have the SB and the OC as well, both fantastic.

The Blackbird is the most efficient razor I’ve ever used, even though it is less aggressive than the iKon ShaveCraft 104 Tech or the Mühle R41 (2013). After I use my other razors for a while, I always end up missing my Blackbirds, as nothing else shaves the same way.

(If you do get one, be prepared for a learning curve. Some understand the razor on day 1. For me it took longer, but I’m glad I kept using it until I figured things out.)
