Hi everybody! We've had requests from some of our "Non Hobbyist" customers for some tips and information. In response, here is the first geared towards beginners on the safety razor. Too many shaving videos are too long, so we're trying a 3 minute and done format.

Great idea to cover the basics in a short time! There are so many shaving videos that seem to go on forever… As that one lady on the internets said, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Good job! Quite challenging getting all of this info in under 3 min.

Hi Dominick (dominicr).  What a great idea!  I hope you won't mind a couple of thoughts on the video.  I have never done one so please realize I am coming from a no nothing point of view.

1) Would it be possible to set the camera directly in front of you so that it looks like you are talking directly to your intended audience instead of into the camera itself?

2) I loved the way you truly went over the basics of the razor itself.  It would have been great if you could have gotten close-ups of each aspect you discussed: individual pieces of a three piece razor, blade gap, and blade exposure.  Also, if you know you are going to do others involving the actual shave, maybe you could have waited to do the face lather in another video (perhaps after one showing how to build up a lather).  That way you would have had a bit more time to add those close-ups I mentioned.

3) I liked the way you mentioned your products but didn't push hard on that aspect for a first video.  That way, your products are out there but don't detract from the purpose of the video.  Your razor and the blade took center stage here and perhaps your shaving soap can take center stage when you're building a lather or about to actually demonstrate a face and/or head shave.

This was a fantastic effort on your part and I really enjoy that three minutes or less aspect.  It shows just how much information can easily be imparted in a reasonable amount of time.  All good luck on future videos. Happy2

Thanks for the comments. I got the 3 minute idea from myself. I did a previous video and it was 10 minutes. Tooooo long!
