Got around 300 BiC PCs lying around as I really liked them a while back. Nowadays I prefer Personna Lab Blues and Sputniks as well as Rapira Swedes and Russian Perma-Sharps. Still, I'll use them up in the fullness of time.

I am LOVING these blades. Since my head is far more difficult to get to BBS than my face, I judge blades as to their performance there, and these blades are killer. I really don't care if the 2x expensive Feather is sharper for one shave, over three head shaves these are the best I've tried.. relegating my former favorite Permasharp to second place.

Never ceases to amaze me how personal blades are! Glad you are liking the Bics but I will not be revisiting them. Three times I've tried and all were way too tuggy.

Based upon reviews I was expecting to hate them. For me it's the Personnas (Red especially) that tug in the '41. Then again I see all the folks who can't get a decent shave with the MMOC. Go figure.

Truth be told I'm learning to pay little attention to individual blade reviews and recommendations. Beyond the accepted, and objectively proven facts that Feathers are initially sharp and (older production) Derby's are not, unless the recommendation is coming from your identical twin, everything that falls between these two blades is anybody's guess how it will work out for you.

I really like the Bic Chrome as well. I have used about 10 of them now. Sharp and smooth for me in my 34C.

I know this is a old thread. I’m going to revisit this blade after reading this sharpness review https://www.refinedshave.com/bic-chrome-...de-review/

One of the 5 blades that holds its sharpness. And seems to be as sharp as second shave feather and have better longevity.

Thinking this is like a feather and I had poor technique as a noob when I first tried in a sample pack.
Five years later I enjoy feather and kai blades, so I’m hoping to add BIC to my rotation.

I started with Bic and feather, buying 50 of each. I have a few stragglers from other brands, but not many. Thus, I've used these two the most... And I really like the both.

That said, I found the Bic slightly smoother than the feather, but maybe a tad bit less sharp? It's hard to tell when it's this close. It certainly seemed to mow the hair down just as well. Not surprised it is rated similarly in sharpness.

I think this is one of the most often forgotten blades... Not as popular as Gillette, but still associated with modern multi blade razors, which is a taboo for many.

All of that said, I like both, as well as Astra. Just ordered some Astra to expand my choices. Next, I think I'm going to look into Kai and these Gillette Silver Blues everyone sees to be raving about.

Still, when I test a new razor I go back to Bic and feather. It's my current standard to judge by.

The KAI is something special, but not for the reason many think. It’s only mid-pack on sharpness, at least out of the wrapper, but it is measurably wider than most blades (confirmed it myself). This gives it a little more positive blade exposure. That will slightly amp up the aggressiveness. Whether that is good or not is up to the individual and the razor. Think of it as a fine-tuning knob for the base plate.

The same reason I bought 40 Bic PC's.  After reading the review I thought I would try a sharper blade than my usual Astra SP's & Blue Lab's.  Now I'm wondering how much sharper, if at all, these Bic PC's will be.  I'll know tomorrow.  The mailman delivered the Bic PC's today.

You might know in two or three shaves. Remember Chase at Refinedshave is a head shaver his sharpness test after one shave might equal your blade after three.
