Best inexpensive razor for a beginner

RazoRock SLOC. After recently purchasing one of these, for me it's the best combination of mildness and efficiency I've ever used. Not only that, but I believe the double open comb design actually increases the residual slickness of whatever soap you're using making buffing and shaving ATG easy and irritation free.

For a beginner? Henson Shaving AL13 Medium. Too mild for me personally, but a beginner couldn't do better.
I have their Ti22 Aggressive on order, and can't wait for it to be shipped. A brilliant and innovative design.

This is my go-to razor. I'm close to 3 years into traditional shaving, so I have some experience, but i'm still a newbie compared to most. This is what I use daily. For me, it is more efficient than the Razorock Gamechanger 68, but as smooth as a DE89. Just a delight to shave with.

Unfortunately, it falls outside of your price range, at $50 shipped. With the new Titanium coming out, you'll likely see some pop into the BST thread. Keep an eye out there.

EDIT: Wow, just realized this is over 2 years old. Lol. I think Pete found a razor... And commissioned a few for his own store. Well, that was a fun trip down memory lane.

Weishi 9306 is well known, a good homage to Gillette Rocket Flare Tip.
In the last years, the long version has 3 new handles with a bunch of colors.
