Best brush at building a lather

For me its the 10083 and the Stirling Kong. I only have to apply them to the soap for about 10 seconds and I can get 4+ passes(if I need them).

Remember my KentBK12 Silvertip could immediately lather concrete using salt water. Haha. That was a great brush especially using a hair band. Kent would be well advised to set their knots 5-10mm lower-they would have much greater appeal. Just an outstanding under appreciated brush deserving better

Nothing beats a synthetic for making a quick lather. I used to be a hater but I've come around

Also synthetics are the type of brush that makes the most lather out of a given amount of soap/ cream.

Natural bristles absorb a certain amount of the medium. You later rinse it out after the shave.

With synthetics you can sort of wring out the brush to get i. e. lather for pick ups.

As a result synthetics also rinse clean very quickly.

I picked up a 26mm Synthetic tuxedo brush from maggard and it did exactly what I wanted it too. I should have started with that. My first synthetic was a rockwell with very little backbone and I don't think it loaded well. Being new I didn't understand at the time, that not all synthetics are the same. I tried a maggard badger that felt good but was difficult to lather with as a new shaver. I would suggest to any new wet shaver to start with a synthetic tuxedo or similar with a little more backbone and a high end easy lathering soap such as Declaration grooming milksteak base, Barrister and Mann reserve base or excelsior base, Wholly Kaw, Ariana and Evans I'm sure there are others but these seemed to be most universally suggested or liked in most of the best/favorite shave soap threads.

Seeing as he is just starting off with synthetics, a less expensive option might be best, just in case he realizes he doesn't like them, for whatever reason. Then, if he realizes that he enjoys them, then the Chubby 2 synthetic would be a great option to try.

Well, I do own one. Any it's interestingly different form my other brushes. But as it is so dense and with the short loft, it does not even qualify for best at building lather compared to lots of other brushes in my den.
