I could just get another giant bottle of VIBR for next to nothing and be done with it.  But honestly? I love VIBR around Thanksgiving and Christmas because of the cloves,  but other than that it is a little much.  It seems to me that a true bay rum would be a perfect match for my favorite winter soap, Cella.  But which one? Domenica would have been perfect but as I understand, it is no longer available.  I am leaning towards a lime bay rum as that would seem to be more versatile, and am I correct in that Grand Bay is the successor (in some form?) to Domenica but still is not the same?  St. John's is not lime and is  pricier but man, that bottle would sure look good on the bathroom counter.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Here is an outstanding deal.

I have had the Grand Bay. I would not call it the "successor" to Dominica, but rather the watered down version. It resembles the Dominica, but truly only lasts for about an hour.
You actually might consider making your own. Pimenta Racemosa leaves are available for purchase and there are some really interesting recipes out there.
St Johns is closer to Dominica.
Vintage Royall Bay Rhum is great---if you get the one made in Bermuda.

(I bought one from this seller)

I checked my bottle, it’s the made in USA under license. How would you compare the made in Bermuda vs made in USA?

It was a bay rum kind of day a few days ago.  Ethos and Derby really go well together!

This is true but I had a fair amount of Vanilla Safi and Tonka come in from Ethos, too so I had to choose wisely.
