I know they make good soaps. Any experience with this scent as I have one coming now?

Interesting. I haven’t tried that one but I did have an early Crowne & Crane bay Rum. I’ll dig around and see if I still have it. It wasn’t called Bay of Rhum. Something Caribbean pirate themed. I recall it being pretty good although the fact that I’ve lost track of it somewhere in the basement…

Was kinda watching this one and saw it down to "last one" status anddecided it was worth a try. Thanks

Bay Rum is always worth a try

Dave in KY it was Port Royal Bay Rum. Slightly different label than pictured. I can’t find it so I’m guessing it didn’t survive the purge of a few years back. 

I did find these, however, and they’re decent. 

I have had this in the past and it was not very good. They have added stearic acid, so I am going to give it another try. If it stinks as a shave soap, it'll make a good soap for the shower.

I had a couple of pucks of the old formulation and I agree, it was an inferior shave soap. I hope this one’s an improvement. 

Ogallala is another soap that smells great but just doesn’t cut it as a shave soap. The company staunchly refuses to upgrade it so I invite all those makers of excellent shave soaps to do a knockoff, uh, I mean homage soap based on the Ogallala bay rum fragrance. Who’s up for the challenge? You could call it Omaha or Lincoln or some other Nebraska place so as not to annoy Ogallala people.

This new acquisition is very similar to Dominica. Do I wish the scent lasted longer? Sure, but I really an unaware of a Bay Rum with prolonged longevity.

I guarantee our AS will have the longevity you expect.
