My point was there wisdom and value added in Derby City Chop Shop Bourbon shoulder scent

Not confident a Bay Rum true to spirit of Bay Rum could be derived justifying any appreciable rise in price over bargain basement pricing currently dominating the market. Moreover, it easy enough to make at home to one’s preference and added to an unscented soap base for literally pennies. This characteristic of low barrier to creation separates it from other scents having a following.

I'm a peasant, give me all the bay rum!

I was going to say large quantities. Also, sales make a big deal, I'm sure...

Chris from CBL has a bayrum scent he likes, but the oil is excessively expensive. He jumped on it when it was on sale, and bought a large quantity. I don't think he ever released the soap, but did make a smoked BR (which probably allowed him to use less Bay oils?).
Is that Catie's Bubbles?  I know they make Barnegat Bay which is a bay inspired scent and not a bay rum but I didn't know they'd done an actual Bay Rum.  Is it still available somewhere?

Nope, it's CBL soaps. Closest he makes for retail is a 'Smoked Bay Rhum', which is up on his site still. It's not a straight BR though.[Image: f8b152ce1d1c5f878a7606c21a9e62d2.jpg]

On the topic of Bay Rum I want to say a big thank you to Brain ShadowsDad  for his contribution to wet shaving and Bay Rum.  Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum was one of my first bay rums and a very fine bay rum it is.  Brian has announced on his website that Krampert's Finest is no more and that he is is planning to enjoy his retirement.  I wish you all the best Brian and if you ever want to do just one more run, You know I'll be there  Happy2

Tallow and Steel did release Indian Bay last year and it was epic  Happy2 And Sir Henry released the very respectable Island Estate but the other guys just aren’t drinking the cool aid (or rum) sadly.

I’d like members who love bay rum (haters please keep your thoughts to yourself or, post them on your own thread) to post the artisans they’d like to see release a bay rum and what you think it should be like. This could serve as a focus group for the subject artisans.
Haven't you tried Island Estate yet? Soap and matching AS.

Holy cow! Now this is good news! I used to read bayrumdiaries from cover to cover. And then I thought was swept away and gone for good. Left a hole in my heart that I thought would never heal. What a relief to see it back online.
