Barrister & Mann Seville - my opinion

Excellent review, now I am impatiently waiting for Leviathan in Glissant base!

Leviathan in glissant base was released a few weeks ago. It's still in stock at most vendors I think.

Just used the new Glissant Cologne Russe for last evenings shave.

WoW - what a scent, and what a lather. I almost instantly get a great lather from B&M soaps, but if I continue to add water drops by drops to the brush patiently face lathering it for 3-4 minutes gently over the skin, the lather just takes the water and doesn't thin out at all.

You can see the shine/sheen on top of the lather, once you add extra water.

Same great soap as the Seville Glissant.

And same very nice label design, now just a Russian bear instead of the Spanish bull, and the sturdy plastic container is just a very nice addition to the B&M shaving soap brand to give the presentation that step up.

Really pleased with these new soaps, I will have to add a few to my collection in 2016/2017 definitely.

Thats killer. Hopefully it leads you down the Barrister and Mann rabbit hole. If you like holiday scents you ought to give Dickens a try as well, I'm really enjoying it.

Seville is just a beautiful take on barbershop and it is one of my absolute top soaps for performance and scent.

I must be in the minority here but I actually prefer the old white tubs more. I obviously like the newer artwork though. I recently bought Cheshire in the white tub to have before the new one comes out. Obviously I'll buy the glissant one too.

I had my first shave with Seville today. The glissant base was great as usual. Easy to lather. Plenty of thick and protective lather. I am not great at describing scents but I know what I like and this smells great. Nice barbershop scent.

I definitely find Seville to be one of my absolute top soaps in shaving. The scent is beautiful and I really like the new packaging and extra slickness with the Glissant base. I might have to buy myself a backup.

I've tried 3 barbershop scents. The first was Kraken by MLS the second was London Barbershop from Maggards, and the third Ghost Barber from CFG. I found they all kind of smelled of laundry soap to me, and each of them had a frag component that made my face burn a little.

I have a sample of Seville on the way to find out once and for all if Barbershop just isn't for me or not.

I think I've narrowed the burning sensation to white patchouli, and I've seen that Seville has patchouli, but I'm unclear if there is a difference.

I'll find out within a week I guess.

It's a relatively common allergen, and my face burns horribly when I use soaps that contain it. I'll definitely be interested to hear whether you have the same experience with Seville as you had with the others. Best of luck!
