The Latha line really is something special! I'll be taking a tub with me on my long visit to Chicago later this month, as I suspect it'll work well in what I hear is pretty hard water.

For what it's worth, I find Limon to have good, robust scent strength. SCShaver, it's possible you're anosmic to one of the ingredients in it (or that you're hitting olfactory fatigue quickly!). Though really, scent is one of the most YMMV things out there. :-)

Its interesting because the scent strength of the sample was weaker, but I figured, "hey its a sample, the scent is good, I bet with a full puck, it'll be solid." It didn't translate though. Maybe you're right, maybe there is something about the Limon scent that my nose is not picking up properly. Like I say, no issues whatsoever with scent strength on LPC, Oceana or Taiga, the latter of which is really strong and incredible to my nose. Its all gravy though. The Latha's perform so freaking amazing I can forgive something like scent strength on the Limon, it was just something I noticed.

I am blown away by Latha too. I recently purchased 3 from the line when LPC was released, and I hadn't used any Latha soaps prior. I bought Sandalwood, Oceana, and LPC, and all smell great. Oceana isn't a strong as I prefer but it is nice, and does remind me of LMR but I find it closer to TOBS Eton College.

The performacne is excellent in every regard. It may be budget price but it's premium performacne. It is now one of my favorite soaps to use, right up there with B&M White Label and Glissant, and Stirling.

That is very interesting that you and I had a similar approach to the Latha. After I purchased Le Petite Chypre, I wanted more Latha soaps. Now I might buy two more of the Latha line after the discussions here! Its just a kickbutt line of products period.

I also want to give Will props for making these available to Maggards in samples.

I don't mind paying for something if its top quality and that is definitely the case in many respects with the artisan soap market. However, when I find something that I feel performs even better than I expect at a lower price point, you can pretty much count me in on buying a ton of something like that, and Latha is special.

Haven't seen any mention of Original Latha (lavender/oakmoss/heliotrope). It's a really great barbershop scent. Lavanda is an amazing sharp lavender scent. The only Latha I haven't tried yet is Limon (not much of straight-up lemon guy).

Good call. I bought the original Latha pretty soon after it was released, before there were any other scents in the line. It grew on me pretty quickly, and it's still arguably my favorite of the ones I've smelled (I think Lavenda and LPC are the only ones I haven't sniffed now). It's sort of a creamy-floral barbershop vibe; refined but cuddly, somehow. Not sure how else to put it, but I really like it. I have the original Latha splash too, and it's great.

Love the performance of the Latha line and the scent of the Sandalwood. Had a reaction to the LPC, but it still worked great. Going to have to snag some more samples from Maggard's to check out the other scents.

That's surprising. Any idea what you might be allergic to in general? I can probably pin it down in the formula somewhere. Sorry to hear that, though. Sad

Well I've never used anything with Juniper, so I'm thinking that may be the culprit. I've used plenty of different things with Cedar oils in them to pretty much rule that out. Menthol up until now, has been the only ingredient I've had to steer clear of in soaps.

The Sandalwood Latha works great for me though, and have had no issues with it.

Yeah, the only juniper in it is the cedar oil (cedar is part of the juniper family). There's no menthol in the soap, either. I wonder if you're allergic to oakmoss or petitgrain or something? Regardless, I'm glad that other things are working well. Smile
