I don't consider Jacinthe and Ravish to be similar at all, and lemon is literally the only note that they share (with Ravish's lemon content at least an order of magnitude less), but to each his own. What matters is that he likes it.

As said, though — he enjoyed the set, and that’s really one of the end goals in this hobby.

I've never seen that particular lathering technique - was he taking soap out of the tub and smearing it on his face or was it from a lather bowl?
Scent/fragrance is so subjective that I am not really interested in hearing what reviewers think a product smells like because it will have zero bearing on how I will perceive a product. I will definitely take the scent notes into consideration as well as any thoughts of the creator but the final is on me. I've found that I generally find all scents interesting and while there is no doubt that I like some more than others, there are very few products whose scent I do not like. If its straight up, Uber-powerful leather, I probably won't like it and probably some of those ubiquitous generic commercial blends as well but apart from that I remain open minded (nostrils?)

I shaved with Ravish this morning and had one of the nicest shaves I've had in a while and I generally have pretty decent shaves everyday. This stuff is in Excelsior base but the stars must have aligned this morning because it seemed even better than the already excellent Excelsiors I've used. The scent is very nice, I didn't get any similarity to Jacinthe or any other B&M scent, I found it to be a soft and very pleasant scent that I could use as a daily lather. It was an all around great soap, great shave and a great start to the day.

The smell of the stuff she put in the tub points right at Will’s soap!(03-02-2020, 10:42 PM)ExtraProtein Wrote: BIRTHDAY OF DR.
