So......I'll eventually get some Beaudelaire but in the meantime I shaved this morning with B&M White Label Bay Rum and it was superb. I bowl lathered in a Captain's Choice lather bowl using a Shavemac pot scrubber (D01 2 band) and it produced a beautiful thick, rich creamy lather. I really love all of the Barrister and Mann soap versions, I couldn't pick a favourite among them. It would be a Sophie's Choice.

In what way is it subjectively "awesome"? Just curious how in real world application, despite the ingredients, that it was noticeably better than the previous formula. I have trouble really evaluating post products, particularly if the post-shave of the soap is up to current standards. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on it. Thanks!

I suck at describing these things but I’ll give it a try. It has a softer less alcoholy face feel. It seems to dry down faster and have less burn. Could just be me, but it seemed different.

I broke out my tub of B&M Fougere Imperiale for yesterday's shave - what a great soap and an intoxicating scent. Its the original (I think) white label version in Will's excellent Tre Citta vegan formula. I got the Fougere Aromatique in tallow and Imperiale in vegan. My recollection is that the vegan formula was dropped for reasons of practicality - tallow outsold vegan by a large margin - because it certainly wasn't for performance reasons. I have several B&M vegan soaps and all of them are excellent. Although I'm not really an EDT/P guy, I think I might have to wade in on on these fougeres. Big Grin

Number of edt's hit the bst's.

I think with all the hype a bunch of guys bought outright not knowing the scents beforehand. I've found that scarcity of a product ties into the hype sometimes of how great an item was. Problem is with scents that just doesnt always hold up the hype.

I like Wills scents especially those not related to fruit. But with the dresser full of frags I can't pull the trigger unless their is a soap ad splash to match.

In case y'all hadn't heard, Will replaced Tonique with the new Deltus formula.

Full info in the History of Barrister and Mann in the Aftershaves section.

Your mention of the B&M White Label Bay Rum reminded me that I was thinking the other day that I want to dig out B&M White Label Vetyver Santal. And, now that the White Label Bay Rum has been mentioned, I think I have a tub of that right under Vetyver Santal. The dive into the shaving soap hoard collection is always an adventure!

This will afford people an idea of actual costs.
Two of the three are more expensive than the soap, with one over 250% dearer!
If this is considered reasonable, you would hate to imagine what others are charging!
