Yes, it has never given me a bad shave once.  Wink

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I can get the same results as you and use a lot less soap. I use synthetics exclusively and only need a few, max five, swirls to load a brush. I face lather, unless using a sample for which I press a bit into a bowl. Like yourself, I load it with water to almost the 'breaking point' and then I let it sit on my face for a minute or so to settle in. I will add that I shave after showering and I do NOT dry my face after exiting the shower and I also use a good facial wash in the shower to clean my beard.

Fine video, but damn.....you use a lot of soap!!  Sick

P.S.  The Europeans are gnashing their teeth since Mitchell's Wool Fat went 'woke' and dumped the tallow as did Haslinger. A sharp eyed entrepreneur would quickly locate some mutton tallow and fill that void.....quickly. Scentless of course.

I made the lather that I like. It's not meant to be a hard and fast rule, but folks have been asking. Smile

As for Europe, MWF never incorporated mutton tallow. The "wool fat" refers exclusively to lanolin, which I no longer use due to its high allergen activity. And every scentless product I have ever made (except balm, for some reason) has sat on the shelves, so I'll leave them to gnash their teeth and continue on as per usual. Safer that way. Big Grin That said, neither MWF nor Haslinger is a scentless product. In fact, I cannot use MWF at all because something in its fragrance profile burns my skin HORRIBLY.

MWF was bloody murder on my skin too

Similarly to Bluegrass, Omnibus is my #1 base. Sorry the unscented sits on the shelves. I would use the hell out of it. And BPs idea is a great one. The tallow soaps of Europe are gone. Tabac another one that spit the bit. I would think you're base in a no scent or 'soapy' scent version would fly off the shelves. I guess Cella, Eufros and LJDJ are the Europeans main high performing options. But they have very polarizing scent libraries.

Not the same company, really just two nice Spaniards.

Los Jabones De Joserra is made by Jose Martinez out of San Eseban del Valle, two hours west of Madrid.
Eufros by Manuel Garcia in Central Barcelona. A veteran soap producer. An absolute favorite in my den.

Eufros/Manuel has no social media or website. Just an email address. Nicest guy in the hobby and an exceptional soap base these days, as he has more than kept up with the US small batch producers. Glad he is still with us after all these years.

Guess there isn’t a most appropriate soap for today shave:

One of the most beautiful floral composition made by Will imho, for sure one of my favorite - not just in wetshaving. Classy and manly without being too austere or obnoxious, perfect.
Also, while I think that Omnibus is a better overall base, I’ve to say that PP8 is aging really fine, like a good wine

Happy leap day all!

As we were in this thread chose Omnibus today.
Remarkable soap base all around. It just keeps on giving.
