Posting Freak

Look, I happen to have a very sarcastic and sometimes irreverent sense of humor, but I try very hard to keep it toned down on DFS.  There is no sarcasm font.  I also try to remember that we have a very diverse community here.  English is not necessarily the first language of any particular member.  We have members from all walks of life.  There are a vast number of cultures represented here not only from the U.S.A., but from all over the world.  There are many generations represented here, as well.  I feel that this diversity is a wonderful thing.  We are all so different, but we also all have an interest in traditional wet shaving.

I believe that if one is going to post something with the thought, "Well, this ought to get a rise out of somebody!" then I think you should:

1. Chuckle to yourself.
2. Back away from the keyboard/phone/tablet
3. Move on

If you are able to complete #1 on that list and refrain from posting, great!  If not, please continue and complete steps #2 & #3 above.

Please note that this post is not directed to any one person in particular.  It is meant to maybe help some people see things from a different perspective.

Well said Blade4vor , I agree completely. While humour is universal, it comes in different forms and is as diverse as people are. Very little of it translates well to the electronic written media format and we're all far enough down the information highway to know this.

I must have missed something. No, I don't want or need a link to it. Missing it was probably a mercy.

"Baiting" fits in this context; "bating" doesn't.

That's already been corrected, but thank you for mentioning it again.

Agree. A good shaving forum needs fake news and highly biased opinions not based on facts. The posts are either good reading or really annoying or nasty personal attacks. Personally, some effort to increase the "good reading posts" would be appreciated.

A good shaving forum thread only needs one sarcasm post (and this is it).

Can't agree with you, sorry. There are plenty of places for you to get your fill of rubbish. This should not be the place.

What is considered "rubbish" may oft times be highly subjective. Once we start down the road of censorship then it becomes a very, very slippery slope and usually with no return. I say let the chips fall where they may and let the readers sort out what for them appears to be wheat and not chaff.

I might be one of the people the OP is talking about as I did post a thread that was closed very early on involving a video of WM razors that I found bizarre. I’ve been around on this forum a long time, when in the world did we get so sensitive? Are all WOLFMAN threads forbidden? Seems anything Wolfman gets shut down almost immediately to prevent hurt feelings. To the OP I’m not a troll, I have serious issues with how James conducts his business as do many wet shavers, hence 1,400 razor prices on eBay and over a years wait to even buy one on his site..... the way James conducts himself pisses a lot of people off..... not only on this forum but all other shave forums as well.......

Further.... who are you to deem what is post worthy and what is not? Are you the Himmler of wet shaving and what shall and shall not be posted?

Your post of what is and isn’t click bait, screams of arrogance and hypocrisy..... if you dont like what you read move on.... don’t respond... your post baits controversy good sir.......

Whether this is true or not is irrelevant as in the end it is ultimately HIS business and he is free to operate it as he sees fit. I will however state that what he seems to be doing is working on one level:  it has made your lust for one uncontrollable.   Smile

As a note, I do not own a Wolfman razor and have never seen nor touched one. I do however find it amusing that grown men can
be reduced to such emotional extremes for a mere bauble. At the end of the day your face will be shaved regardless.  Wink

Holy mackerel!
Trolling !
Baiting !
I thought this foram was about wet shaving, not dry fishing.
Let's stop carping and fishing for the biggest one.
Lets weigh our scales, reel in the rhetoric and cast about for some better pearls.
And, just for the halibut, sea some sun -nier smiles.

No one is talking about censorship here sir. How about a little common decency? Is that too much to ask?
