Sorry for taking so long to get to this, just haven’t had a chance sooner. The Soft Heart Series soap I have, Le Petit Chypre, is really wonderful. Tremendous performance and a pleasing scent.

I do understand why this soap base isn’t Barrister and Mann’s current standard. This soap could easily be called a shaving cream. For those who load directly from the jar, perhaps the soft consistency is not immediately as evident. (Obviously depends on how heavy-handed the loading is.) Currently, I’m into scooping out soaps and loading them from a bowl, and when I first extracted some of this soap, I immediately noticed that it is just as soft as any cream, though denser than whipped shaving creams tend to be.

The consistency makes it easy to load, but also demands a little more product than harder soaps would, which once again underlines what Will was saying about product consumption. However, use enough of this, and you get a nice, dense lather with plenty of sheen, great slickness and protection, and a wonderful scent. Truly a great soap! The Deltus-base aftershave is also a thing of beauty.

Looking forward to reading people’s impressions on Amazelnut.

I hope they put out Petrichor in soft heart soon. Always wanted to try that scent and would be a great chance to try this base too!

I wonder if it’s the same consistency as HSSCs tallow offering. It’s basically a cream. I’ve been loading it from the tub but will literally just rub a dime sized amount on my face for my next shave. It’s the softest soap in my den and it is lovely.

Guessing soft heart is comparable to the DG bison tallow for softness?

Hoping to give my Amazlenut a run pretty soon. Love the scent!

After how much I loved the scent and performance of Taiga, I got in on some Amazelnuts too. I absolutely love the scent, very nutty and was, a tiny hint of sweetness. I'm very excited for more soft hearts scents coming out, I'd rank it as a top three performing soap base.

I’d say it’s slightly more firm than DG bison tallow.

I was able to pick up Amazelnut, and it’s an excellent soap! I can definitely understand why Will went with excelsior but this is a wonderful performer.

The scent is a nice trick, distinctly hazelnut off the tub. But when I close my eyes and just experience the scent while lathering/splashing, it’s a nuttier Guerlain Vetiver with a hint of vanilla. Very nicely done!

Just an FYI guys. Will just kicked out Diamond in the SH base today; I asked him if he was going to do an Excelsior release and he said no.

So if you want Diamond this year, grab it quick.

Ben how do you like PP8/Soft Hearts compared with Sierro and Milksteak?
