Even good things must come to an end.

We've had a blast making Latha for the last couple of years. But we at Barrister and Mann feel that it just no longer jives with our direction as a company. We're focusing more and more on fine fragrances, and so Latha has become a bit of an outlier for us.

More than that, production of Latha is no longer sustainable, for a variety of reasons. So, awhile back, the decision was made to supply our retailers with as much stock as they needed, top off our own stores, and then let folks who really enjoy the Latha products order as much as they like before we stop making it...

Makes perfect sense to me. The market doesn't seem to gravitate toward "workhorse" soaps anymore and Latha was damn good for what it was. To be honest, it shaved just as good for me as the tub of Seville I had. Then again, it's a proven fact that handsome faces like mine are more prone to be shaved easier.  Wink   Tongue

Regardless, this is a consumer driven (and fickle) market and Will is not running a charity. You have to innovate and keep the "wow" factor in the spotlight lest the monkeys lose sight of your shiny ball. I'd wager money B&M has something else in development right now. Maybe even a soap with Sasquatch milk.  Wink

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Just had a great shave and post-shave experience with Latha Taiga, and will sad to see this product line go. The soaps have been great for those who have lanolin sensitivities, and the splashes are nice for those who want a little less alcohol and a little more something else. Also, the splashes I’ve used have some surprising longevity to them. These will all be missed.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Man. LPC is my go to travel soap. Now I gotta think twice about bringing it places.

I still have the current active tub and aftershave. And one more tub and aftershave in reserve.... Let the hoarding begin; I shall add it to my last two jars of the two original Fougères.

None - I've been rationing my white label tallow Fougère Imperiale and Aromatique. I hope tallow doesn't go bad. =p

OK, I thought I might have missed something. I'm doing the same thing - those two soaps are among the best ever made in my opinion.

I trust that Will and team at B&M know what they're doing. The soaps from the Latha collection are solid performers but I prefer the stronger scented premium soaps from B&M and Reserve.

I tend to reach for the aftershaves a bit more than the soaps, although the soaps are not bad by any means, the A/S have some great skin food ingredients. Plus for the price they were exceptionally good.

This is a shame. In my experience, for my skin, for whatever reason Latha is a top tier soap for me. Right up there with B&M's other bases. Unfortunately my favorite scent (Original) has already been discontinued for a while so it will be hard to stock up on that one. Oh well. I'm sure Will's got some more great things on the horizon.
