I think most use it to prevent marring when you tighten down the handle onto the base plate...it can leave some rings where the handle is.

personally I find the washers to be pretty annoying when swapping blades and such but I can see their utility, especially for polished razors.

Thanks for the kind words!  Any particular reason you're withdrawing?

I sent a message to both Gbsher and AylsworthRazors. Wondering if my messages aren’t going out?

I have not received any DMs from you, so perhaps they were not being sent. Unfortunately the razor has already moved on to the next (and final) participant in your group. Maybe andrewjs18 can move you to one of the other two groups if you still want in?

Below will be the pass around list. The standard pass around rules apply: keep the razor/items for 1 week, then ship them to the next person in line below your order. If the user isn't tagged and/or a member on DFS, contact either myself or AylsworthRazors s to get the name & shipping details for the next person.

Please share your thoughts on the forum as well as filling out this feedback survey Kaleb created, if possible.

If you'd like to be added to the list, please reply that you're in and mention the state you live in. Do note that since this list will be blended between DFS users and people Kaleb knows, your order on the list might not be as you expect it initially.

This list is currently a work in progress and will be updated accordingly

Two great shaves in and time is going by.  I love how the top plate and base come together - I like the pins on the top cap rather than the base plate.  The threads are generous and for loosen and leave the blade in that is great.  Not sure that I get the design on the top of the top cap.  A more tradition round top cap would have worked and used less volume of space.  Not a big issue but I like thin with the baseplate and top cap.

I feel that at the sales point I would want part of it polished.  I liked the feel of the handle but also felt like there could have been something more and better in keeping with dragon scales.  I intend to see what may come in the future because I feel that there is promise in computer drafted handles.

Ultimately a razor at the price point of this one should have a stand available as an option.  (I love the Tatara stand design consistency.)  The razor appears to have been dropped and have some dings.  In hindsight perhaps shipping it with an acrylic stand would have helped.  The dragon design points and collar have some dings.  I feel some design changes could be made to make the razor more robust.  The handle collar appears to be vulnerable.  I also acknowledge that the razor should not have been dropped and/or subjected to mistreatment - my feel is that it must have been.  I have frustration that the community did not take better care of what was entrusted to us.  I have a friend whom is a musician and he prefers instruments that have scuffs and dings as it shows that the have soul from being actually played.

I have no criticism for the quality of the shave which was excellent.  Ultimately it is a razor and that’s what counts.

when the western list is wrapped up, should the razor go to the end of the eastern list to help wrap up this pass around quicker?

I'm not sure that makes sense since West and East are similar in length, with 4 left on the Eastern list ( Nh wet shaver is finished now and sending it on today, if he hasn't already), and 3 left on the Western list, with me being the final destination as that one is coming back to me. Your call though!
