Sure, I'll be happy to give it a try. I tend to use oils more than balms, but I've been in the market for a new balm already, so good timing!

I appreciate the offer, but I've tried a few balms before and my skin seems to breakout. Not sure if it's the beeswax or the lanolin. It's odd because there's both in my mustache wax, but I don't seem to have much of an issue in that area, just the beard. I stick with oils only on the beard.

@"TheHandleBar", I've only used it twice thus far, so I'll need a few more tries with it before giving more firm feedback, but a few notes...

the scent was better than I expected it to be, based on the description. I'd give it a mild to medium scent strength and decent longevity. the hold is good, definitely stronger than what I'm used to in the few different balms I've used. Also the product itself is harder/firmer than the last two beard balms I've owned (honest amish and hoot's natural).

andrewjs18 Thanks for your initial notes on the balm. I've found the easiest way to get some product out of the container is to use the backside of your thumbnail and push it over the surface of the balm, scraping up some wax onto your thumbnail. These instructions are printed on the full size can but not this travel/tester size.
Then, just warm in your hands like normal. As long as your hands aren't wet, it should melt perfectly to an oily/buttery consistency in your hands. If your hands are a teeny bit wet, the product wont melt properly and you'll be left chasing bits of wax around your hands.

I received my sample very promptly from The Handlebar Supply in a nice padded envelope.

We've seen about 2 weeks or so of back to back weather in the 90s here in Central TX and I was certain I would be opening an envelope of melted oil due to the summer heat. To my total surprise, when I opened the envelope and the sample container, there was a perfectly firm and smooth container of balm staring back at me. Wow!

The scent is what struck me next. It is hard to actually pinpoint the individual ingredients of the scent, and each of them works so well together. It brings to mind walking through an evergreen forest when the weather is just about to turn cool. It is a very fresh and invigorating scent, and even though it works well for the summer, I feel will be an absolute joy to wear during the fall. The scent strength is medium and i could get just a bit of it throughout the day. It's not overpowering, which is perfect.

The Beaumont beard balm is almost the exact same consistency of my Honest Amish beard WAX, which is firmer than their balm. The Beaumont balm does take some effort to get to the right consistency to work into the beard. I found that adding a few drops of carrier oil on top of the balm and letting the mixture warm to body temp helps with getting it to the consistency of my preference. I suspect this consistency was done by design to help with hold - although I definitely feel it is more along the lines of a wax than a balm.

My beard remained nice and soft throughout the day. My beard was not oily, tacky, or crunchy. I would rate this highest marks in conditioning properties.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed trying this out. I would absolutely love to have this in an oil or a slightly-softer balm Smile

As far as score values from 1-5 (1 being poor, 5 being best):

1) Ease of use - 3.5
2) Performance and hold - 5
3) Conditioning properties - 5
4) Fragrance strength - 4
5) Fragrance scent - 5
