I made a mistake on my previous post. I have used the Pro Super in the previous shave I mentioned. I thought I had shaved with the feather pro, but when I went to look for the super, I noticed that it was in the razor already...so I swapped the blade out and shaved with the regular professional. I was dissapointed because I had a very good shave with the super. I shaved the same way as I have with the Super, but I received much irritation because it wasn't as efficient so I ended up going over the same spots again or trying to get an angle with more blade exposure. Finding the sweet spot was harder for me. I am unsure if his will be a keeper for me. I d have to focus on the angle a lot more than anything I've shaved with (other than a straight of course) when I shave with this razor.

I was really curious about how the Kai Mild would perform for me, so I binned the Feather Pro after only 7 uses, and tried the Kai's. What a great shave! It didn't go through the hairs like the Pro, but felt more like a GEM blade after several uses - it was sharp enough to cut through with no tugging, etc., but I could feel it cutting, as a sort of feedback. I hope I'm making sense here, but this is the best description I've got. The Pro just felt like I was wiping hairs with the soap, and didn't really give any resistance. The interesting part is that in the SS Mongoose, only the Feather Pro Super or Kai Sharp worked for me. The Pro was really borderline for me, and the Kai Mild was horrible, more akin to plucking than cutting... That's something I see in many Mongoose vs. Alumigoose comparisons, so I wonder why. Also, the Feather Light and the Kai Mild don't work for me in the Feather AC straight, but that might be due to my rubbish SR technique.

A sweet combination. An ATT SE1 head attached to a Rocnel lined handle in a Rocnel stand. Coupled with a Feather Pro Super the shave doesn't get any better at any price.

Just joined the club. Ordered over weekend and Stan said will ship today. Now I have to figure on a SE blade. And of course the two blades I use on my DE are feather and Kai.

Congratulations and hope you enjoy the razor. As far as blades that is a personal choice. I really like the Feather Pro Super because the blade is wider and gives a very close and comfortable shave. I also like the Kai Sharp blade which is a little harder to get but there is a seller on eBay who stocks them.

Sounds like my DE blade issue. Love the Kai blades but are more costly and little harder to get. And great Kai captain original and captain sharp. Too many models made by great blade makers. I'm thinking the original is like the feather pro and sharp is like the pro super.

Cool looking. I have this handle so I will give a test run to see how it works out.

After six uses is the best SE I've tasted, I prefer ATT . Cobra and Mongoose more aggressive , ATT same performance a nd less aggressive for skin.

YMMV
