Thanks! I'm excited! It feels like I'm waiting for Christmas.
you are..your own Christmas.
Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito.
Just finished my first shave with the SE1 - What a wonderful shave. It was a really smooth and efficient shave (I've used the Feather Pro blade). Practically BBS after 1.5 passes.
General impressions:
1. Weight is just right for me. Feels substantial in hand due to it being SS, but not too heavy.
2. The handle feels slightly thin, but it just works for me. No slippage.
3. It really feels like a DE, angle-wise, and very intuitive.
4. Very mild feel, but very efficient.
5. When tightening the handle to the razor, I noticed that I need to tighten slightly more than I'm used to, otherwise it will loosen up when I shake the water after I rinse it (usually I use the "two fingers" method and it works fine).
6. This is the first razor that didn't give me some kind of trouble in areas where stubble grows in all kinds of directions. No tugging whatsoever, and no irritation.
7. The only reason I had minor irritation in one spot along my jawline is me forgetting that it's not a regular DE, but a wider, stiffer blade. Got careless while enjoying the shave so much
8. The only "problem" I encountered was removing the blade. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't too hard/complicated, and I was not in any danger of cutting myself, but it's much easier to remove in the Mongoose.
Comparison to other razors:
I'd put its efficiency as slightly better than the ATT S1, but even smoother.
It feels much lighter than the SS Mongoose, in a good way. It's also much smoother/milder feeling, but at the same time more efficient. I usually use the Feather pro super, or the Kai sharp in the SS Mongoose (B3), otherwise it tugs and causes irritation (don't get me started on the Kai titan mild... That's a shave I do not wish to repeat...). For the SE1 I used the Feather Pro and it worked great. I'll try other blades and report my findings.

Nice write-up, DonnerJack! Thanks for sharing your impressions. I especially like the comparison part.
Your review doesn't help my patience(or lack thereof), though. USPS tracking NOW says my ATT Bamboo SE1 experience is not until Monday.

I love the GEM Clog Pruf, could anyone compare this new SE to the Clog Pruf?
I haven't shaved with the Gem Clog Pruf, but I have shaved with the MMOC and the ATT SE1 feels much smother to me with a lot less blade feel. The SE1 is still very efficient. I feel like I achieve the same beard reduction in the same number of passes with the ATT SE1 as I do with the MMOC. The blades I am using for this comparison would be a Feather AC Pro in the ATT and a Gem Super Stainless Steel in the MMOC. (YMMV and all that jazz!) I still need to try a Feather AC Pro Super blade in the ATT SE1.
