If you have not tried a GEM razor, I'd recommend getting yourself a cheap G-Bar and a few PTFE and Carbon blades from Try-A-Blade before you sink a lot of money into a new one. The blade selection is very limited so its a cheap way to see if the blades are compatible with your face before committing.

I have several. The only one that gives me pause is the Micromatic open comb.

I'm with you there. I've used almost every variety of GEM razor and that's the only one I can't do anymore. That thing is a flesh eater!

Considering now a days I don't care for achieving BBS at all and I only do 3 passes without checking if touch up is needed, whenever I shave with the MMOC + PTFE blade in 1 pass I get almost as close shave as I would do 3 passes with any other razor/blade combo... I still do the 3 passes with the MMOC but probably 2 passes would of been fine.

Please feel free to send your unloved MMOC my way :-). A modern clone would suit me fine.
At least the Blackland gets that reducing the head profile on a GEM razor is a good thing.

Is There an actual pic of it or just the one that is a graphic? Until then I don't know if I agree with this statement.
