Do you know? It’s interesting to see and hear about the finish because it is new and probably nobody has it yet.

Also, are you sure it isn’t titanium? 66g would be pretty light for a steel razor with such a long handle. Augustin hasn’t yet added the weights of the Vestige on his site but the titanium La Faulx with 14mm handle is 67g (steel La Faulx is 121g).

I’m not 100% I sent him a message. The head is definitely stainless. The handle might be ti I’ll check.  The best comparison for the finish is H&S light polish. It looks identical. Really nice looking from 2’ away.  Up close you can perceive some machining but all the corners and surfaces are smooth and shiny. No jagged edges.
Oh, I see the ‘316L’ stamped under the base plate now. Yes, definitely steel. It’s a surprisingly light razor then, if the handle is steel too, and I agree it would be too light for me in titanium. I find anything close to 40g or less can feel like a cheap toy to me and I haven’t enjoyed titanium razors that were this light.

I measure the Vestige Ti head weight at 9g and the Ti handle at 29g for a total of 38g. It is definitely light in hand, although reasonably balanced given the handle proportions drive a fair amount of the mass to the top section. The copy I currently have is not mine and not intended for use, so I can only offer a limited perspective.

That's really light for 316L. Is the handle hollow perhaps? That's nearly half the weight of the La Faulx with the standard handle.

The handle is full but the inside diameter of 9 mm allows this lightness.

This is the first GEM razor I’ve gotten along with.  The ++ plate is smoooth. Full review of all 3 plates l, with comparisons, coming up later today.

Pls tell me that its bad. I told myself to not buy a GEM again after I sold all of my modern GEM's beside the Rocnel GEM. The blades are my least favourites but this one looks mind blowing. Augustin has one of the most beautiful designs
