THAT is the one downside to these blades. They have even more darn wax than the Featbers.

Astra SP's are my most reliable go-to razor blades. That and Polsilvers.

being a relative newbie, i think i have tried everything. i personally like astras. i also like red personnas. feather for me a somewhat distant third. in the beginning, i watched a lot of busta and tse. tse seems to an advocate od astra.

Heck regardless of cost, it's great that you found blades you really like. The cost is an extra bonus.

There was talk on this thread of how long the blades last. I would expect that to be different for different folks as we have different whisker thickness and density, not to mention skin type.

I get 3, maybe 4 from the Feathers. When the blade starts dragging I pay a heavy price if I don't change it immediately.

I haven't found another blade that is comfortable yet. I've tried Astra, Shark and Wilkinson Sword. I need to try again with Wilkinson with my best razor and shaving soap.

The Feathers are available on Amazon currently for under $23.49 per hundred with 'free' Prime shipping. Here's a link:

Same here.  Astra SPs are my blade of choice for most of my razors (particularly the more aggressive ones, which I tend to favor), and they are almost always what I use when trying a new razor for the first time.  In my milder razors, I often use a sharper blade (Feather, for example).  In my opinion, though, the Astra SPs give the best blend of smoothness/sharpness of the blades that I've tried to date. That they are so cheap is just a bonus.
