Some find the Astra SS smoother, but as with anything YMMV. Personally, I have noticed more of a difference between the two in different razors, but as we all know one must match their blade of choice to their razor of choice. Just a simple process of elimination.

Here's one reviewer's take on the two:

I would only add the caveat that the aforementioned reviewer is mainly a "two shaves & done" blade user.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

This morning I shaved with the Astra SS, lots of tugging with the Blackbird. I find the Astra SP's a little sharper.

I am the 1 out of 100 people that Astras just don't work for. I gave the 30 I had left to wyze0ne

Thanks for that. They are one of my favorite blades.

[Image: zzyvmY4.jpg]Gents,

I used a Gillette Spoiler blade for the first time and found it a bit harsh...and I used it a second time, and found it a bit harsh...I was about to use the same blade for a third try to see if it mellowed out.  However, then I said to myself “Why bother?”

I threw it out, and decided to try an Astra blade.  I have a friend who gave me 100, and so I decided to give it a shot.

WoW!  Very sharp but forgiving and smooth...I did use it with a STAR Model 100, but I think my face and this blade really get along!

I was quite happy!

Find Astra the safe blade to try in new razors. May not be the best blade but never a mismatch. Really need to order a hundred

Yes, it's probably the most "neutral" blade made in that most like it, some love it & few hate it.
