Multiple WR1 complete sets, different gaps/materials. Because I just had to try them all.

Multiple WR2 complete sets, different gaps/materials. Same reason.

Two complete BB sets, different materials. Because Ima sucka for the bird.

Two Rocnel Sailors. Because they are completely different shavers and ima sucka for an adjustable.

Multiple Gillette Toggles/adjustables. See above. They are, to me, fascinating pieces of American design/engineering. In the span of a couple years they created a host of variants on the same designs, then Frankensteined them by intermingling parts between designs. Some worth small fortunes today. I love them and and keep a small pile.

Tell your friend, he is in good company, there is no wrong way to do this, and DFS is a safe space

I have some consecutive gaps in WR1 and WR2 as I gradually worked my way up to what I liked best. In the beginning especially they were very difficult to come by so it took a few attempts and a lot of reading to know what to pick when he was open. I don’t own any duplicates but I wouldn’t hesitate to get a backup or two of my favorite configurations if given the opportunity. If something does exactly what you want and always brings you joy when you do it ( and you know it will really sting if it was damaged or lost/stolen etc...) that’s more than enough grounds to invest in a backup.

In total, I have four different iterations of the Blackbird because it is my favourite razor and it comes in four different finishes, with OC & SB plates. Seeing as I bought three from the BST, it helped keep the price 'down'. Furthermore, they provide good variation in my SOTD photos. Smile

Chrome, nickel , and gold versions of the Stahly razor. I love em and they're cheap. Ditto the Enders Speed, black, red and green.

I've got two Techs and two Old Types. The Techs are pretty much the same. One Old Type is super-aggressive. The other is smooth as silk.

I think I have five Gillette New razors. Each has a different look but the heads seem to shave identically.

I have two Jagger DE89 I use to compare blades.

And given the news about Merkur bankruptcy I’m hunting a back up Futur, and no, a Chinese clone won’t do.

I have several Techs as they are the epitome of DE technology & simplicity and never fail to give me a perfect shave if I do my part. I have never used nor seen any other DE razor that works better. It's an evolutionary "dead end".  Wink

I guess I’m the contrarian here... but no, no dupes
