Any soap makers in the middle TN area. I'm sure there are but not sure where to look.

Thanks,

There are several active ones:

Woods Viking

Here is where Woods Viking was on TV:

Here is another one, Music City Suds. They do a lot of types of soap, including shaving soap.

Soap Commander is just over the border in AL on I-65 South:

Also, he's not a soap maker, but is a middle TN wet shaving company, The Shave Mercantile

Bufflehead is out of Nashville, but good luck getting your hands on any of his soap.

Bufflehead's website is still up, he's active on Reddit, j-mt on the boards. Such a great soap. Hope to see it again.

This might help:

Directory of Soap & Cosmetic Handcrafters in Tennessee

Example:

Free Reign Farm tallow and goat milk shaving soap

Some of these do not have a shaving soap, but others do. You can also search by state, province, country, etc. from the Directory's home page.

Edit: Here are a few more TN shaving soaps

Thanks for names guys. I order a sample from Music City Suds.

Any of you have experience with straight shaving with any of these soaps.
Some soaps just don't work as well.
Either breaking down a little fast or don't have the cushion.

No a side note from the list... man there's a lot of goat's out there. lol

Goat tallow soap would be such a non-starter for me. Notwithstanding how trendy goat cheese seems to be in every restaurant I've been to, I do not care for it. It tastes how I imagine (yes imagine ) a goat's armpits would taste like. Overpoweringly Goat-ey. Yuck. A shaving soap that had any of that goat-iness coming through would likely make me gag.

MileMarker60, Music City Suds has a very high quality base. I haven't tried theirs with a straight, though have no doubt it will be fine. I don't like all of their scents, though really like the Sassafras.

Same with Soap Commander, who is in my rotation for my next shave with a straight.

My list above was for active soap makers that have good availability. I would expect Bufflehead to work well, though he has young children and a busy job and isn't able to put soap on the market very often.

A local artisan here in West TN makes some great soaps. Great cushion and slickness.

https://www.facebook.com/mammyssoapco/

Send her a message on Facebook for her scents...currently she only has 5. She can send a Paypal invoice for mail ordering. She has an Etsy store, but currently has no shaving soap on it yet. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MammysSoapCo

Soaps are $10 plus shipping.
