I had a tub of that when it came out and loved it, but a friend loved it even more and talked me out of it. It was a great daily "driver" as it was not overpowering like say their Tertius which is Aramis level strong. In lieu of SoCal Hipster I bought their Frozen Mojitos last Summer and couldn't be happier. I "spice up" the shave when using it by adding five drops of Stirling Frost Drops to the lathered brush for the perfect amount of cool!!   Happy2

That was good of you getting that to your friend.
Frozen Mojitos, I'm not into the menthol type, but hey it sounds like it wake you up and let you know you're alive.  Sounds like fun for you though!
Its a good thing we're not all exactly alike or it could be a boring place.

You "paint" with a broad brush. It is trained scientists we are praying come up with a Corona Virus vaccine and not an alchemist.  Wink

Alchemists were chemists and physicists ahead of their time. Yes, their dream to turn base metals into gold was a dream too far. Yet it is that same inquisitive nature of alchemists that has enabled nuclear physicists to produce 24 new elements that do not occur naturally on earth. Nuclear reactors and particle accelerators are required to  produce elements with atomic numbers greater than 95. The same techniques available to modern nuclear physicists that produced these synthetic elements could also be used to turn other elements into gold, although the process would be cost prohibitive.

Maiden voyage with Kaizen today.  I could not possibly be more impressed.

I ordered mine on the 8th and was told it would be shipped on the 13th with e-mail tracking. I waited until the 17th and heard nothing so I sent an e-mail inquiry that went unanswered. A few days later I sent another e-mail and again was met with silence.  Dodgy   Tonight I sent an inquiry via Facebook merely inquiring about what had happened as well as mentioning the two prior unanswered e-mails. Shortly thereafter, and with zero explanation, he refunded my payment.  Confused2

I have no idea of what in the Hell happened. Oversold?  Huh

Peter was selling the Kaisen release both on the regular A&E web site as well as on the ShavingShopClub web site. With the demand for the presale, I can see how he might have sold more units than he was able to ship. I am sorry you missed out on yours. I also am hoping to get into the next release.

Very impressive soap base. Kaizen is denser than Kairos but not as quick to lather. The scent is a bit strong for me but I expect that from most US soap cookers. Over marketing with the naked label but the base is a great one.

I am not sure what prompted the comparison with Kairos in this thread, but since you brought it up ...

IMO both soap bases offer great protection and PSF, but my lathering experience is different from yours.  I have had only one shave with Kaizen, so I need to "hedge my bets" a bit.  That said, building lather for my one and only Kaizen shave was quicker and easier than for any of my six Kairos shaves, and noticeably so.  The resulting Kaizen lather was every bit as good too.

Kaizen is insanely good. I whipped up my lather in no time. Very refreshing scent to boot.

I have not yet used Kaizen, but I expect it to be superb. I missed the first release.

As for lathering Kairos, I bowl lather and can produce a wonderful lather with about 15 seconds loading time and 30-35 seconds lathering time using my standard lathering method. I have some soft soaps that will load quicker than Kairos, but I have yet to find a soap that will lather is less than 30 seconds.

The structure of the Kairos lather is different than Kaisen. Ruds Shaves describes Kaisen like marshmallow fluff. He also uses that same description for Wholly Kaw Siero. Ruds describes Kairos like sour cream. Thus, it you expect Kairos to produce a fluffy head of lather, you might be disappointed.
