Just Here for the Shaves

Yep L'Orange Verte is on the short list although have several in the Orange area already. Josh is a good reviewer

I have had L'Orange Verte soap for a few months and just ordered the respective AS as it's that damn good. Wink

Anybody get a good sniff of the St. Bart’s yet? I think it’s modelled after Creed Virgin Island Water (hope I got that name right?!) and the notes sound nice especially for my Christmas vacation plans!

On a side note, do people find the aftershave splashes have good scent stength and durability? For reference, I feel like B&M and WK and Catie’s aftershaves do have good strength/durability.

Thanks!

St. Bart's smells amazing. To my nose it has a very coconut forward scent.

I just ordered Vetiver Magnifique and it is on its way. Will report back here after the first few shaves. I am looking forward to trying the soap.

I was tempted by that one, but since I have the DG Dirtyver I didn't want to double up on vetiver. I did however just receive SoCal Hipster and it is a very pleasing scent and typical A&E top shelf performance to boot. Waiting on Spartacus soap to arrive soon.

Spartacus came and I have used it once. Per usual, performance is absolutely top shelf. The scent is based upon the ultra popular (and exorbitantly priced) Creed Aventus fragrance and rest assured that in this soap it is loud & proud. I will quote another reviewer's opinion on this soap as he perfectly sums up the difference between it and the Stirling take on it called Executive Man which I have sampled in the past and concur wholeheartedly with his review:

Quote:...I have both and I find them quite different, which could be considered as strange, seeing as they're both apparently influenced by the same fragrance..The A&E is more of a 'take' on the scent with a more smoothed out, deeper, bolder, full-bodied version; where as Executive man seems to be more of an attempt to mirror the frag itself..As for which scent is favored in my books, I would say the Executive man. Performance I don't know about because i'm yet to use any of my Stirling sample's but the lather feels superb. The A&E on the other hand preforms exceptionally well in all the departments that make a great soap..

Scent strength wise, it's got to be A&E all day. I really like Peter's line of scents as they smell good and are all strong enough that you notice what's going on right away, without having to snort soap up your nostrils and mess around with continuous return visits...

So, if you like the Creed Aventus scent then you will love this soap. As for me, I am not a huge lover. You win some & you lose some.  Confused

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...
Northeast, USA
A&E Spartacus......

Excellent soap all around. Lather, cushion, slickness, residual, glide and immediate post shave feel. Scent wise, it’s very nice. If your a Creed Aventus fan and more in tune with the less smokier birch tar and oak moss batches and prefer the more fruity batches with the pineapple, apple and citrus accords, this is right up your alley. Impressive first go.....

I may be wrong on that so don’t count me on it. These soaps are on the softer side of a croap. Not as hard as B&M or WK but more along the lines of Declaration Grooming but not quite there. You can still bloom the puck... I do anyway. Lather build takes a little bit of work but if you face lather it’s much easier. Lather is also very sheen and slick loooots of post shave slickness. I am strictly a straight razor shaver myself so I do look for that in all my soaps. Post shave is excellent leaves your skin on the creamier side. I think there is alcohol in the after shaves but I usually don’t feel it... or any burn for that matter. Peter Charkalis has definitely Done his homework before launching these. Really love his stuff. I currently have
Spartacus
Summer Fig
And Grecian Horse
Grecian Horse and Spartacus get 5 stars from me summer fig I like but I find the scent strength to be too mild

Spartacus isn't in the new base. The only ones he's released in the new base are a couple of limited edition soaps, Amber Rose, some test soaps sent to YouTubers and the upcoming Signature soap. He'll be porting everything over to the new base eventually though! Can't wait to get The Novelist with that extra slickness.

I'm looking for info on what has been changed to the newest base or when. It gets a little confusing with the two lines and two (I think only two) bases. Then there is the club vip thing but after a time I guess the sell those to the non club folks.
Where will they sell Signature to the public, after the members have had it? I'm looking forward also to the newest base.

There are answers within this vid. Note however that Signature has been pushed back to 15 Dec. for public offering:
