I currently have a Muhle v2 STF which I like, but I do prefer my badger brushes. I'm interested in the Tuxedo knot and trying to find a handle to go with it. I already have a blue handled brush so I dont want to go with the Tuxedo w/ Blue Lagoon Handle. Do you have handles in other colors? What inexpensive handles do you recommend? Will the Tuxedo 24mm properly fit a whipped dog 24mm handle? Thanks.

I hope it’s OK that I step in. Speaking from experience, the 24 mm Tuxedo knot fits the 24 mm Whipped Dog handle perfectly, with no modifications needed. If you are really into some backbone, you could always have Larry at Whipped Dog drill the handle a few millimeters for the extra $5 he charges. However, I find the loft to be perfect (some backbone, some splay) and it is one of my favorite brushes, if not the favorite.

I have the 24mm tuxedo and 24mm WD handle ordered. Any tips for mixing and applying the epoxy? I'm thinking cover the exposed top part of the handle with tape, drip in the epoxy in the handle, and plop in knot. Any reason to push it down or just a gentle touch?

Squeeze out equal parts of the resin and hardener and mix well with a toothpick or other small implement. Use the toothpick to smear a light coating all around the socket of the handle. You don't need to use a lot at all. That stuff is strong. Also, don't put any too close to the lip of the socket. You don't want it to ooze out when you put the knot in. Apply some pressure for about 5-10 seconds and let it sit for 24 hours before using and you'll be good to go.
