Thanks for the review, I'm thinking about it but wonder if I really need to have another device with a plan etc. I have series 1 and its good as roar as it goes. Tracking activity, voice dictation is really good texting but the most glaring weakness for me is the truly pathetic battery life. If I have an active day with several work outs timed, several texts sent/received I won't even get the whole day, maybe 10 hours. Not great.
If it works with bluetooth headphones I assume it would connect with your car's bluetooth.
For me it just seems like more than I really need - another distraction although if it could act as an iPod in the gym that I might like. I currently don't carry my iPhone into the gym. I just use my Apple watch 1 to time the workouts and I have that small, square iPod nano that clips on to my waistband for tunes or a beat mix like podrunner. If the series 3 could replace that nano and I could use wireless ear buds, it might be something I'd look into.

I really want to like the Apple Watch. Everything I own has a half-eaten fruit logo on it. Alas, I'm still waiting for that killer app. Sure, the notifications are nice. Now being able to make (short) calls is nice as is the truly anywhere freedom that LTE brings... But I don't care about the fitness apps, except for maybe the upcoming Apple Heart Study.
Of course, the other problem is the Apple Watch is something you'd want to wear daily, if not all day. I prefer to match my watches to what I'm wearing, other jewelry, etc. and I have some nice mechanical watches. I can't make that kind of commitment.

I know what you mean BoarderPhreak , before my wife bought me the apple watch 1, I would wear a watch to work, one of several nice, inexpensive watches (nothing like what I've seen guys here post - those are NICE) and when I got home I'd take off the watch. I wouldn't wear a watch on evenings or weekends unless there was something special. The Apple watch wants to be worn all day. Exclusively. And snuggly - for the heart rate monitor to work the strap has to be reasonably snug. When I wore any watch I always wore them somewhat loose, like I'm a little ocd about things too tight around my wrists. Maybe I had a bad arrest experience in a previous life, but now Apple messes it all up. Steve Jobs would say it cured me of my irrational wrist thing. Help me. Maybe I should wear the Apple watch on my right wrist and then any other watch or no watch on my left wrist??
