Another great shave with the Stirling sheep. I used my Yaqi synth with the G5C knockoff knot. This was to confirm that it is a bit scritchy, and I'm not interested in getting another. Lol.

The backstory... Saturday I saw a brush on The Razor Company (their own) that I was interested in. Unfortunately, it has an AK7 knot. That appears to be similar to the Yaqi: A scritchy version of the G5C. (Based on others reviews)

I sent a message to Jason to find out if he uses Silicone or cement. If it's silicone, I should be able to pull it. Otherwise, I need to know if I can live with another scritchy brush (probably not). Fingers crossed that I hear from him soon (and it's good news). Still, as long as he can answer the question, I'll be happy knowing what I'm getting into.

Regardless, the Stirling, the Karve, and the Dorco Prime do their jobs well and I'm happy and close shaven.

Have a great rest of your evening folks.

Well I got an "answer"... The email said they use both and AKA Brushworks (who makes the knots) always use Silicone. Unfortunately, I was looking at their own creations, not an AKA brush. So, no real answer.

So much for that. Ooh well. Time to move on to the next (not so) brilliant idea. Lol.

Bummer. Does AKA make a brush with the knot you like? In any case, happy hunting!

It was the handle I was more interested in. I wasn't 100% sold anyway though, so no biggie. Besides, I'd do well to stop procuring more... So really, Jason's doing me a favor.

I got tired of the scritchy knot on this Yaqi, so I attempted and succeeded in removing it. Place a spare 26mm cashmere in the brush for now, though I'm tempted to try an APSC Pure Bliss. Decisions decisions. Lol.

Regardless, I think it looks good right now... and I love me a Cashmere.

The TNS Tuxedo knot was used yesterday and I wanted to post a bit about it, as I mentioned it in the APSC thread with HoosierShave .

It was a good shave. The knot is thick / well packed. No problem making a lather. To my face, and with my memory, I believe it has a hair more backbone over the TNS Quartermoon. I found that was an improvement. However, it was also a little less 'luxurious feeling'. If I had to compare it to other brushes, I'd say it was the child of a cashmere and a "normal" tuxedo (like Maggards or some such).

It was very nice and gave me no issues. If it continues to perform like such, it'll be a welcome member of my brush collection.

Bought myself a little birthday present... A sawdust creations handle ("Cosmic") and a 26mm PAA Roswell synth knot.

The names fit, and it looks good in my picture mockup. I hope it looks as good as in person. [Image: 2be8e23a7bc3ee5231cf6217d2621cd4.jpg]
