Well. I managed to get a non-lather shave soap: Pacific Shaving. It was at my local grocery store and cheap. I gave it a try this evening. Boy what a horrible experience. I know the lack of brush and lather lead to the poor protection. But I also think the Gillette Guard isn't as good for my skin as my regular razor. I'm trying to figure out my next move: I definitely need to give up the brushless idea. I need to carry proper equipment. Do I also get a cheap DE to use? Try a different disposable? Use some broken glass I find on the side of the road? Lol.
I'm leaning towards the cheap razor... Maybe find a Gillette black handle. They're usually cheap and prevalent... As well as mild.
I need to think about it, though.
(Edit: The cream works both ways... Might try it as a lather. )
