Not at all a problem! I enjoy it, and I enjoy becoming unignorant!

Well. Today's shaves sucked. Lol.

I tried a few things and most of them were fails.

I used the Yardley Lavender bar soap for pass one, and it really isn't cut out for shaving. I finished with AoS Olibanum and Black Pepper. Good stuff!

I used the Schick Type G1 and it really isn't for me. Too aggressive feeling, less efficient cutting, etc for my tastes. Not to mention, the blades cost twice as much (for what a DE costs). It was very cheap, so definitely worth the try.

Also used my 22mm Semogue. It did well, but I'm a bit worried about 5 or 6 hairs gone in one shot. I've had to have lathered this thing 15-20 times by now, I'd guess? A bit worrisome, but still performed well nonetheless.

Black Pepper?! Ewww! 

Sounds like the boar is one that wouldn't make it in the Dave in KYshaving parlor! Too much shedding! I don't mind 1-3 hairs in a go, but 6! Yeah, it would be on "probation" in my drawer, for sure!

Sorry about that injector. Great thing is, the Type G's are well loved and oft recommended, so you should be able to recoup your investment. If I didn't already have a half dozen, including 2 Type Gs, I'd buy it from you.

Lol. I don't know why it's called that. I smell no pepper. I get Frankincense (Olibanum) and a sweet vanilla. It's actually a great scent and a wonderful (performing) soap.

I hear ya on the hairs. I'm going to give it break-in duty to see if it mends it's ways. I'll do another 3-4 test lathers and pay close attention to the losses each incurs. Cue the Clash... 'Should it stay or should it go now'?

Yeah, no big deal on the razor. Looking at eBay, it was $10.49 ( +tax )... dirt cheap. Heck, I could PIF it and be fine.

On that subject, I have to say I've found some nice deals on the Bay. It helps if you aren't afraid of dirty looking razors.

Well, Irish Flats arrived and it's official... GIT and Irish Moos are two different animals. Tweed is much more floral, to my distaste. At least I now know. Lol.

I'm really warming up to the scent of Tabac. No need to warmup to the performance... It's outstanding! The blade was on its last leg, I think, at shave #4. Still, it pulled it off with the assistance of the (wonderful) Overlander.

I tried something different with the post shave. After watching that most recent review of Paul's brushes, I decided to try a shave cool down with an ice cube. It really does feel good. I may have to start doing that regularly. I've also been told ice has a bit of moisture in it... So it could be hydrating.

I then put on the Stirling Glacial Post Shave Balm to finish it up and I'm ready to face the afternoon! Have a good one DFS.

So much so, I decided to order 2 more tallow refills while they're still available. They're cheap over at Pasteur's - shave stick refills for about $9 a piece (shipped free). I grated my first into a tub and it works phenomenally well that way.

If I use it every other Tuesday (because I only shave every other Tuesday), it should last me quite some time.
