Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, it has been a while. I guess I didn't have much to put here recently... Or I've finally begun falling victim to my nature: I don't do well with keeping up on Journals.

Not much "new" to post, shave-wise. I did get a door-hanging shoe organizer for my soaps yesterday. Still in the 'getting to know you' faze. We'll see if it is a good fit and lasts. As folks have seen in my rare SOTD posts, I stack my soaps on a shelf. Hard to see ones in the back row, especially not on the top of the stack of 3. This makes everything easily visible, which is nice. It is cheap looking, but my bathroom never was a showplace for entertaining and socialite balls (cue the AC/DC)

Hmm... Ooh, I also go in for minor surgery tomorrow. So if I fall off the face of the planet, you'll know it didn't go so well. Lol. I wonder if I should have a will prepared for my shave gear? I kid... I kid.

Really can't think of anything else... I'm just too darn boring.

Entertaining your socialite balls in your bathroom? I know there’s a joke in there someplace.
I'm saying I don't hold parties or social gatherings in my bathroom. So, if the soap holder is a bit plastic and tacky, who's going to notice?

I also realized my wording was so close to a classic AC/DC tune, as Eric posted. So I edited it to make the connection. Lol.

Well, I started the shave out with the Gamechanger 84. After one pass, I decided the magic really wasn't there. I switched over to the Overlander. Two additional passes and I was happy and clean shaven.

So happy I grabbed one. At this point, I am about ready to shop for my backup.

Have a good evening folks!

I used the Overlander this morning with a Nacet on it's 6th use. My log entry was one word: beautiful.

I have only a couple of times considered a "backup" razor. But after this morning, and some of the irritation of maskne the past 3 shaves, I would buy another Overlander immediately if one appeared on the BST!

Hope you are having having a superb Hump Day. Remember to allow everyone to wait on you hand and foot, but don't push too hard!  Winking

Just completed my shave for the day. Same as you Eric, I used the Overlander.

I am trying something different... I want to see how it behaves with blades I don't usually use. Today I grabbed an Astra, which has been "eeh" for me in the past. However, in the Overlander I had an awesome shave. Three clean, smooth, drama free passes and I was happily, smoothly shaved.

Around here we got hit by a warm front. The temp has been dropping, but today it started out in the mid-50's. I took this as an opportunity to use one of my favorite warm weather scents: Savannah Sunrise. I love this scent!

On that topic: this soap has, among many other notes, honeysuckle. Based on that, I was thinking about picking up Mike's honeysuckle soap. Does anyone have any experience with this scent? I'm curious if it would fit in with my tastes.

Have a great afternoon folks!

I had Mike’s Honeysuckle years ago. Hard for me to remember that far back, but I know I moved it on pretty quick. Mikes Hungarian Lavender was the clear standout scent for me.

Thanks Paul. I haven't had too much luck with Mike's scents. The real problem, of course, is that I'm so picky.

I love the Savannah Sunrise, so I should just use that and be happy. I can then save the cash to buy a second tub, when it runs out.

On the other hand, the money is going out the door anyway. Just snagged 300 Astra SPs for $24 on Amazon. $8/100 is a good price, I believe. If the cheap blades work well in this razor, might as well use them!

Nice move. I snagged the 500 pack for $40 a couple days ago

A few of us over on the Lather Talk Discord channel were talking about the future of Russian blades being sold in the US…

Whoa, I never even thought about that. So many of them do come from Russia, too.

Time to go buy another 300, I think. Lol.
