I have noticed a few new reviews of the Razorine on Youtube (Summer 2018). It seems to have become available in recent months. Most say it compares with a DE more than a Shavette. Has anyone bought and used one of these razors? If so, I would appreciate any feedback. It looks like an interesting tool to try and add to a hobbier's collection.

This thing???

It's an oar for a Barbie boat!

It is a DE with a handle in the wrong place.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

It's like the blues, the best stuff comes from dead guys.

I use straights most of the time, and the design of the above razor seems to have one of the biggest flaws straight razors have - the fact that the handle is in line with the blade edge.

This means (for me) that some shave angles are very difficult to get or even impossible. With a regular safety razor, you just change the angle of the head any which way by spinning the handle a bit. With a straight, to change angles you have to change the angle of your wrist and/or elbow to angle the blade.

I'm not explaining this as well as I'd like, but even though I use both hands equally well when I shave with a straight, I still find some shave angles to be pretty much impossible. This razor will probably have the same issues for me.

(All this being said, I still get excellent shaves with a straight - I just have to skin stretch and use multiple angles.)

EDIT: To answer the OP's question: No, I haven't used it, and would also be interested in hearing about the experiences of someone who has. I like the fact that it's different.

Pretty cool-- I would slice my face all up--- I tried with the feather AC and pretty much bled out into the sink. Wish I could do it as easy as he makes it look.

+1, also with straights and AC-type shavers. Smile
