Lisa and I went for another walk today. Outside temperatures were in the mid-80s, but we strolled through Fauntleroy Park, where the trees gave us plenty of shade. Although not truly rain forest, it is quite lush, with many ferns, amazing for being in the middle of town; and despite our lack of recent rain, there were running streams all around.

Thanks, Celestino. It was very quiet and peaceful there, with hardly anyone else around, and we were able to stop at one point and sit on the ground to meditate for a few minutes. It was wonderful. Someone wrote to me and asked how we avoided mosquitos in the woods, and upon thinking about it, I realized we have not seen or heard any mosquitos at all this year, on our walk today or around home or anywhere else. I don't know why.

Not sure what it is about our area, but we have never had any issues with mosquitoes since I have lived here starting in 1995.
We are very fortunate, indeed.
