Well, make that and adoptive Texan.
I have been wet shaving with a straight razor for over 30 years now.
After joining or lurking on other fora (SRP, Shave Nook and B&B), I grew tired of reading about the latest and greatest products for our community.
DFS seems to be more straight to the point and less cliquish.
I do not consider myself an expert or a collector.
After all these years, I have narrowed down my likes (woodsy or oriental scents) and dislikes (menthol, lavender or eucalyptus) and run a fairly minimalist show with a few razors (Brian Brown 6/8", 1948 vintage Puma Gold and my great-grandfather WWI issued French straight) and a couple of soaps (currently SV Tundra Artica and CRSW Honeywood).
My honing technique is also quite basic and I rely on a simple leather strop.
I look forward to keep learning from this community and hopefully contribute in some modest way.
