Is it just me, or is there an inordinate amount of new and recent soaps/sets/scents on the BST?

It is not just you as lately not only do I see folks list 10+ soaps on one BST listing, but many will try to sell them as a lot. I know for myself, once I started experimenting with soaps, I can quickly accumulate more than I can use in a year, and I am not one that has to be first in line to get the latest release of premium soap makers (and buy multiples from that release). Competition is great in this area and word of mouth spreads very fast. Personally, having tried a couple of these "it" soaps once they go on BST, their performance is not much better than my go to standards costing a lot less and are more available.

Of course, I haven't seen many of your soaps on BST, which may be a good thing or bad thing.  Winking

Our stuff doesn’t get the love others do here. Our main customers are not hobbyists with stockpiles. We know our customers actually see the bottom of the tubs.

I think some people also buy up new releases from some merchants because they know they can move the soap if the scent isn't to their liking.

I would like to believe that, however I have seen too many that will immediate try to sell a soap that has sold out for a high mark up because it is an unobtainium saying the tub has never been opened. Some other will fall into the category you mentioned by saying the soap has been lathered twice but they want to recover their full cost (plus shipping and PayPal fees). Sometimes it is just better to be satisfied with what is available and not chase the unicorns.

I do exactly that: buy what is available and not chase the unicorns. I can't be bothered with chasing down soaps, of all things..

Mine is different. Now, I am trying not to buy soaps anymore.
Getting many newly released soaps made me have a stock.
Buying and selling soaps are really time wasting. Finally, I am done... Smile
Honestly, I don't need any soap with better performance. Many of them can be lathered pretty quickly. Slickness and protection are perfectly enough for me.
I feel trying many new released soaps are too exhausting.

I would say it is you. The BST of this forum used to be much more flooded with soaps/sets before, and things would move faster. The whole community isn't growing at the pace it used to (I still think it is growing). And those who joined during peak wetshaving growth (check google search trends for safety razor, shaving soap) already have a substantial den (like me) don't buy at a rate e they used to, rather try to sell one/two/lot every now and then.

I agree.  It seemed crazier two or three years ago and prices for things were higher also.  I've seen things on BST here now that sit for days that three years ago would have been gone in a couple/few hours.

When I read this post, and the comments following, I too concur that things have slowed down on the B/S/T. And agree with Sourav in his conclusion of the market growing but most already have given up on the chase of better, faster, slicker. It always amazes me how some will buy multiples of a new release with the plan to sell them for profit after the maker sells out. Odd mode to getting rich as selling items on various forums is a pain. Well, I'm not their target market. Got too much stuff already (thankfully lots of sons). You know what really surprises me though is the lagging "reviews" section of this forum.
