My blade bank is a Bunnykins coin bank, so I could always fish one out through the (normally plugged) hole in the bottom with a magnet.
My drying method (also for blades I'm not finished with) is to make a Cookie Monster puppet with my left hand and a towel, and then pinch (or bite) the blade to pat it dry.
You never know. I might need some for a Cenobite costume some day.
I do use a similar technique. I wrap them in the paper and kind of squeeze around then I open the paper up and kind of wipe or clean them off if necessary.
