The RR crumbled and broke apart, had large shards and sharp edges.  The Osma has held up and only breaks apart near the very end of its life.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

Ah, thanks. I hadn't thought about that aspect.

I agree with Bruce, the Osma brand is very good. Holds together, stays smooth, dissolves at a uniform rate. I bought several blocks of discounted alum blocks and regret it. No savings when you don't use it because its inferior. Explains why it was on sale I guess, although vendor said it was because of damaged packaging.

Years ago I asked Joe about Osma bcsuse it was more expensive, and there was a reason.....but I forget.

I believe it was that Osma used finer grains of alum, it was pressed harder and more compact etc.

At least I think that's what I remember him saying. Ever since, I've only bought Osma as it hasn't failed me or fell apart early.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

Shaven in the Past

I like to use it after each shave (rinse) then administer after shave balm and then AS. The Alum really makes my face feel smooth and squeaky clean.
I pat dry the alum block and replace it in the container.
