the pass around has ended and the razor is currently with me.  I'll be using the SB plate with lather ports tonight.

I fully understand if it's not possible but I would like to at least ask if I may have a run with this Alpha razor?

I used the SB plate with the lather ports for my shave last Thursday. I didn't notice much difference between this plate and the one without the lather ports aside from the fact that this one - the one with the ports - did not rinse as cleanly & easily as the one without. My guess is the lather ports create another area for stuff to hang up in.

next plate up is the open comb one. I hope to get to that one by the end of this week or early next week.

thanks again, Vlasta I'll fill out your form once I've used all 3 plates.

Gentlemen - please don't forget to complete the product survey once you had you way with her... it is kind of the whole point of the passaround...

Guys and Gals - in the background I have had prototype #2 made in response to all the feedback recieved so far. It is substantially reworked and is a really smooth shave now.

I had a few custom orders and I had two brass made, one in copper and another in stainless steel. If there is sufficient demand I will get another prototype run madein copper, brass and steel. These will be exclusive items, branded in a way that any production model will never be branded and also with a custom 15mm handle (production wold have a 13mm handle). They are not going to be cheap as they are hand made by a prototyping machinist. They will be $650 per set and that includes an open comb, closed comb and custom 15mm handle. I will kick in a free shaving brush too with an Alpha G5D synthetic knot.

I will only be going ahead with this if I can get 10 pre-orders. I wil ask for 50% down payment and delivery would be within 1 month from order. Choice are Copper, brass or Stainless steel 316L.

So - go!!!

the alpha razor is going out to Time Bandit tomorrow afternoon.

I used the last remaining base plate a few days ago, the open comb. nice, efficient shave without being too aggressive.

one thing I noted when pulling the blade to dispose of it was that the blade didn't like coming off of the centering holes all that easily on the top cap. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this and/or had that issue during this pass around. I was using personna med prep blades.
