What GD scents do you "universally" recommend?
There seems to be a long list of people who have tried hard to find a GD scent that isn't offensive (from the soap base and/or fragrance). I'm one of them. Had 5 soap scents and they were all so bad that I've used them for zero shaves. No other brand has that track record.

Are you going off early releases? His early Mallard stuff had me running. However some of his newer scents are fantastic. Before the fire and Incense and Rose are exceptional.

I've got 12 right now and like them all some more then others but all good. Got 4 fram M&M and threw them all away , couldn't stand them, scent is very personal if you don't like it don't buy it or by unscented.

That’s nonsense. You have every right to be inflammatory but I’ll call you out on it. Just don’t buy it again. No worries.

I love GroomingDept scents. Not every one is a favorite but most I like. Right now enjoying Sandalwood Nobile and Aion.

Well, I bought "Soap" and I'm trying to think if I've smelled anything worse in my life.
Oh yeah... The previous GD scents that I owned were worse.
So maybe they're getting better.

I am asking honestly.
If I buy another GD soap, which scent would change my mind?

Lol, OK so the next time your going to throw away some soaps, especially great performing soaps like M&M please let me know as I'll gladly take them off your hands!

It’s pretty hard to universally recommend any scent as it’s so subjective. Honestly, no soap maker is batting 100% with me, however, some of the GD scents I love include Incense and Rose, Incense and Oud, Magnolia, Amber and Oud, Mandarin Bay, Lemon Bay, Tao, Melody, Malecki, Boomer and several of the different Mallard ones. The first Mallard one I got a year or two ago is very reminiscent of Nuavia Rosso to my nose. Very nice. I’m sure there are more but I’m just going off the top of my head. Some of the scents don’t appeal at first but I find that they grow on you with a few uses. I find it helpful to let go of any preconceived notions or expectations of what the soap should smell like and just accept it. You may like it or you may not. It’s like Jedi training. You must learn to let go of that which you most fear to lose.
im sorry I can’t be more helpful and I hope you can find one you like enough to use so you can experience the truly outstanding performance.

Laundry has always peaked my interest, but I'll find out soon. Hopefully it actually smells like laundry. All of my other grooming department soaps are unscented which is a win-win for me

I've gone unscented as well but the Laundry and Lemon Bay sound like something that I'd like. Bummed I missed that Lemon Bay release.

I’d highly recommend “Charbon” if you like pepper and smoke.

Definitely try Aion for the performance alone. It’s a pretty light and woody scent that’s inoffensive and pairs well with many aftershaves. I enjoy the scent and it’s grown on me.

Ingress smells great on and off the puck. Green apples are the big note I get.

Maleki has a rose, oud, musk scent that’s also pretty light-mid that I’d also recommend.

Luxor smells somewhat “soapy” off the puck but it opens up with some fruit notes after lathering. It’s also great.

Hope some of that is helpful.

Actually, there are no bad shaving soap scents. None. However, there are scents you find appealing and those you don’t. It’s all about your personal perceptions and preferences. There’s something for everyone out there.
