Air in lather and anyone in DFW metroplex

Does having air in lather mean to little or to much water. I’ve always not been great at wet shaving but the One Blade has made my Shave’s a lot better. I still question my lather as it looks great to me on the face, but whenever I pull it from the brush onto my hand and do a test from my thumb to index finger it’s not cool whip looking like I think but should be. Does thus result from to much of not enough water?

Also, are there any gents on here in the metroplex area who would give me lathering advice in person sometime when I could make it there from Wichita Falls.

Hard to say without seeing pics, though if you have good lather on your face and get good, comfortable shaves then you should be good.  

Someone may reply with a good video on lathering.  If not, Google, 'building lather with shaving soap' and a bunch of videos will come up.

I’ll see if I can get some pics tonight of what I’m talking about. Like I said it looks good or so it appears to me while on the face, but whenever I do the desperation text of pulling it apart between fingers it never looks right there.

If your lather works for your shaves, then it is just fine. Don't worry what it is 'supposed' to look like.

There are some very useful videos on Youtube that would be of help, but I wouldn't worry about this as long as your shaves are going well.

If its bubbly you might have too much water. You can ring out some of the excess water from the brush before you load/lather it. Then add water as needed. Ideally, the lather should be thick and creamy like yogurt and may take a minute or two to work it into that consistency.

It sounds like you are not loading enough soap onto your brush, or you may be using too much water.
Try loading for longer to get a 'sticky' build-up with the lather, then when you begin to bowl or face-lather, add water little by little and see if this improves things.

I get this type of lather, almost every day. Just shake out your brush with a few robust shakes so that your brush is damp. There is no need to use too much force to do it.
The most important thing to remember is that you can always load your brush for longer to get enough soap (proto-lather), the 'gooey/sticky' type that you want before you start building your lather. Most folks seem to forget this, so don't feel bad about even loading your brush for a second time during your shave if you find you have thin lather.

Great lather today, however the WK Monaco Royale set my face on fire from the get go. Really is a shame because these donkey milk soaps are amazing. I’ll give it another go after the holidays, but this will either end up in a PIF or on BST.
