After the last few posts about mango, I have just ordered a Mallard Mango set from Anticatura! I’m not particularly into gourmand scents but I wanted to try the new Mallard base…

Tried my first Aion Skincare soap and aftershave today.  Wow!! I was extremely impressed with the products and had a fantastic shave.  It was very easy to create a rich luxurious lather by bowl lathering about an almond size of soap and around a teaspoon of water.  The lather provided a lot of cushion while also allowing the razor to glide effortlessly across my face.  I have sensitive skin and had no redness or other irritation.  Simply a great soap.  I also enjoyed the aftershave.  It left my skin feeling extremely soft and hydrated.

Now, the biggest surprise was the scent.  Rose and other floral scents are normally not my preference.  I took a chance on Tresor on a BST after getting beat for the Vetiver set also being offered.  The fragrance of the soap and aftershave is fantastic.  It is definitely rose forward but the incense and spices add enough richness to make the scent more masculine and exotic.  The scent also seems to last hours.  This is not a weak rose scent that quickly dissipates after putting it on.  It is definitely a keeper and I will be trying more Aion products in the future.

Used the Tonka for the first time today and found it amazing, performance and scent wise. My skin always feels plush after using AION stuff. I found the lotions to be as good as the soaps, 90% of the time I use matching sets and this ones are number 1 for me.

Tresor is an amazing scent. It is a deep, dark rose.

While men don't always identify floral scents as manly, some floral scents like rose, lavender, jasmine, iris, violet, lilac, lily of the valley, geranium and a few others have been used in masculine scents for centuries.

Some say that Pinaud Lillac Vegetal smells like an old woman's purse, yet this floral scent was developed by Pinaud for the Hussars, light cavalry group originating in Hungary. The Hussars were mercenaries hired by several countries. They were known for their fierceness in battle. After long days of travel by horse, they bathed themselves in Lillac Vegetal to cover up unpleasant odors. There are still regiments of Hussars that serve today in the armies of Europe, but I do not know if Lillac Vegetal is still their fragrance of choice.

Well said! Florals and fruity notes are the cornerstone of perfumery!

I could be mistaken, but I think I've released more rose and oud scents in the wet-shaving world than anyone else Smile
